Service Rats

Solid Wall Jump
By now, your rattie partner should be going through the window jump reliably. Now it is time to add the solid wall jump. This one is easily learned by the rats since it will be familiar to the rat. Your jump can be anywhere from 3-6 inches high and 4-6 inches wide.

Egg Bowling
The next time you feed your rats a hard boiled egg, DONT crack it or peel it for them! Your rats will have a great time rolling the egg around the cage in order to try to get into it. Although I did say NOT to crack the egg before you put it intot he cage, the first time you do this... you might need to help them out a little so that they actually know what's in store for them. We call it Egg Bowling because our rats usually play with the eggs for a bit before devouring them. They will roll the egg around the cage for a while, knocking it into each other... it's very fun to watch!
Maintaining a Shiny and Healthy Coat
Giving your rat a small piece of bread (about a 1 inch square) soaked in olive oil, once a week, can improve the look and feel of their coat. Aside from it being beneficial to the rats coat, they will actually accept this "treat" willingly and quickly nibble up the entire peice of bread. If your male rat is having issues with "Buck Grease", this treatment is said to help with that as well.
