** Please e-mail us for more information on our planned litters. **
Queen City Rattery will have a limited number of litters available throughout the year in order to find great homes for our babies and to ensure that each baby is well socialized. We will usually have one pairing every other month, or as our wait lists dictate.
Our pairing decisions are made from the goals we have set for the rats born at Queen City Rattery.
If you would like to be put on a Wait List for an upcoming litter, please e-mail us a completed Adoption Form found HERE. Potential adopters that are placed on a Wait List have first pick after Queen City Rattery.
Our Wait Lists tend to fill up very quickly and are often full before the litters are even born. If you are interested in adopting, we suggest that you ask to be placed on at least TWO Wait Lists. Litter sizes and gender are very unpredictable and it is not uncommon for a litter size to be smaller than the number of adopters on the Wait List. Usually, by the time babies from a current litter are ready to be reserved, the Wait List for the next litter is either entirely full or almost full. This can lead to an adopter being placed on a Wait List over and over again and never having the opportunity to adopt! We don't want that! :)
Babies will be available roughly two months after the parents are paired!
** Please note that QCR MUST keep a certain number of babies from each litter, **
even if we have a very full Wait List and this means that not everyone will be able to adopt. We do not do this to be selfish! This must be done to maintain the lines that we have and to work on breeding better rats. In the past we have adopted out entire litters, in an effort to satisfy Wait Lists, and unfortunately we are in danger of losing some of our lines and are now in a position where our breeding plans and goals have been set back at least six months. So, please understand that if there are not enough babies, colors, ear types, coat types, etc. QCR will still have first pick but, only so that we can better our breeding lines and never to be "stingy" or to hurt our adopters in any way.

I will be updating the Adoption and Wait List policies by the New Year.
ALL 2012 WAIT LISTS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED!
We are not accepting any new applications for babies that have yet to be born.
Once our new policies are posted and in place, we will begin accepting new applications and placing adopters on the 2012 wait lists.
